About The Savoy Theatre

Located on London’s busy Strand and attached to the world-famous Savoy Hotel, the Savoy theatre seats 1158 people spread over three levels: the stalls, dress circle and upper circle. The theatre that exists today was built in 1993 after a fire destroyed the original 1881 theatre in 1990. The whole auditorium was lost, leaving only the backstage standing. Today, the Savoy Theatre is mainly home to transfers of large musicals.

Great show
Great show, throughly enjoyed it. Some great moments and songs. I think it could be brilliant and outstanding with a few minor changes in the plot. But would recommend to anybody. Definitely had an effect on me !! Will be back to see it again.

Delightful
It was spoiled for me by being too loud when the ensemble were singing and a few solos. This could be many decibels quieter. It is an onslaught to the ears. I am 82, admittedly but I had taken my niece and children aged 6 and 10. The elder of the two had a panic attack with claustrophobia once we were in our seats (dress circle) and mercifully I had booked an aisle seat. One small boy had such a crisis outside at the beginning I wonder if he ever got inside. The loud noises and the blackout bit could be given as a warning for such children who are on the spectrum.
